Birth & Death Records
City RegistrarAs City Registrar, the Clerk has the task of recording and maintaining all the birth and death records that occur within the City of Paris. Each year approximately 1,400 birth and death records are filed, and approximately 5,000 certified copies are produced by the City Registrar’s office.
Texas Law Regarding RecordsBirth records are private and confidential and have been under Texas law for fifty years. Death records are private and confidential and have been for 25 years. They can only be obtained by
qualified applicants.
Obtaining a CertificateBirth and death records have been available since 1916. Certified copies of a birth or death record can be obtained by coming to the office of the City Clerk-City Registrar at 150 SE 1st Street, Monday through Friday, between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. You must be a qualified applicant and bring the
necessary fees and required information.
